Number 3: Make them sell you on it – Go ahead and contact the hotels, and tell them you’re not sure if you want to go there. Any decent hotel, the person answering will be enthusiastic to sell you on the hotel. If they’re indifferent, then their service also probably sucks.
Number 4: Read reviews online – It will take you some time to read through them, so this is simply optional. My only tip would be to ignore overly negative, or overly positive reviews. No hotel is perfect, and no hotel is perfectly bad. So look for neutral-toned reviews, and that will save you time.

I personally, believe that San Antonio is the best tourist location in the united states, but let me try to present some evidence. What can possibly be better than to simply show you all the sights to see, and things to do while you’re here, and why its good for tourists. Now, this isn’t a complete list, just a short preview of my favorites. In fact, there are so many things to do, adventures to be had, and foods to be tasted in San Antonio, that it requires an mini encyclopedia! But that, is work for some other day! I believe in the 90/10 rule, so I will just present to you the 10%, that gives 90% of the fun.
What do you do first when you get here?
Let me assure you of one thing. If you tell friends that you were in San Antonio, the very first thing they will ask you is “so how did you like the Alamo”? This is because its by far the most popular tourist sight in all of the USA, period. Its almost undisputed in its popularity. What makes it so exciting is that its basically frozen in time. Both the legendary Alamo mission itself, and the surrounding elements, all preserved, as they were.
After you’re done with the Alamo, next stop, the incredible zoo. Ok, ok I overuse superlatives, I know, but I am kind of emotionally attached to this one. Even though I live here, I visit it so many times a year, its almost strange. But it has so much to offer, that it always has something new for me to see.
And then, there’s three more stops on my list of favorites. This includes the Aztec Theater, the museum of art and the sea-world. One is a historical sight for fans of ancient culture. The other houses works of Picasso, Renoir and Van Gogh, and then, the sea-world is actually the biggest in the world!
When you’re done with everything else, you want to go ahead and head to the river-walk. This is where you have a 3 mile long strolling path, lined with cafes and restaurants, offering boat tours. Its pretty sweet!
Now its that very time! You are “sold” on going to San Antonio. Now all you need to do is to find a san antonio hotel. The key here is to find out where you want to be. Which attraction do you like the most? This will really help you narrow down the choices you have.

San Antonio is the city you want to go to if you want to have a lot of varied fun and entertainment in a short time. It offers so much in one place, its hard to not find what you want here. No matter whether you’re going with friends or family, your needs will be covered.
But that’s not all! When I say entertainment and fun, I don’t just mean the traditional “fun activities” which are all fully covered. It also offers tons of options to cover the interests of history-addicts, art lovers and those of gastronomical persuasion.
Let me tell you something. If you tell anyone that you were in San Antonio, the very first question you will get is “So, how did you like the Alamo?” Its (I believe) the single most frequented historical sight in all of the USA. Its stands as a reminder of the country’s historical resilience and brave resistance to anyone infringing upon its freedom. This particular site, the Alamo, is where a few brave Texans successfully held back many invading Mexican armies.
Once you’re done immersing yourself in history, your next step, in my mind, should be the river-walk. You can come here and first take a big walk from start to end, and get to know the place, or just pay one of the water-cabs to give you a ride along the whole thing. Either way, you’ll get to see all of it first. Then, you can go ahead and sit down at whatever cafe caught your glances during your stroll or ride. You could maybe sit down and enjoy some of the cuisine in one of the many restaurants, or do some shopping in the stores. And when all of that is done, and the night comes, get ready for some exciting nightlife and amazing clubs and bars.
The experience here is so good, its not uncommon to see groups of people coming here out of state to enjoy the experience. The nightlife here, can only be said to be outmatched by something like Las Vegas. Otherwise, you’re bound to enjoy this completely in all its glory. The best part about the river-walk night life? You’re walking distance away from the best hotels in town! So you can just saunter back to your hotel room after a fun night out.

Do you wanna know more about San Antonio? Well, you’re in luck! I happen to be be an SA resident that loves this city. In fact, I consider myself the officially informal guide to anyone who comes over. In fact, I discover new and exciting things about this city every day, and it never gets boring.
Probably by far the best feature of San Antonio is its diversity of options on things to do, and atmospheres to enjoy. You get to feel like in a small city if you want to. But then, can switch right around the corner and get all the entertainment, art and business benefits of a big city.
One of the things I most love to point out is probably how much of entertainment this city provides, if that’s what you’re looking to. I would not exaggerate, even in the slightest to say that some people can come here as an alternative to the Las Vegas experience.
Heck, some texans even go so far as LA to get entertainment, but that’s just their ignorance. This is why I am so passionate to encourage more people to discover San Antonio. If more people simply knew what they can do in SA, they’d never ever leave it or dream about NY, Vegas or LA.
For a lot of people, SA, can be a good balanced city. Its not too fancy, and too “out there”, but its not some small little townsville, nowhere. A lot of the other big cities, tend to create an alienated mentality in people, to where, they lose track of humanity and just being friendly to people. Sure, the people in those super-huge cities have “friends”, but they’re more meaningless acquaintances, since that’s the actual “nature” of those cities. In fact, in those cities there is no way to reconnect to humanity. They are the exact opposite of super small cities, that actually have the problem of offering no choices or things to do. And extremes are always bad for you. This is why San Antonio is the best choice to me. It has the small-town feel in terms of how people act and communicate, but all the choices and diversity of a big city.

If you’re reading this, its because you might be confused about picking a hotel in San Antonio. This is not at all surprising, since this city has so many great hotels to choose from. Luckily for you, I’ve broken the solution down to just one factor. And this one factor is one many people overlook, but is crucially important if you want to have a nice stay.
A factor I know a lot of people overlook, is location. So many people are busy reading reviews, and asking friends, when it doesn’t matter so much. The truth is, there’s only 2 decent hotel locations in San Antonio, as they save you a ton of time and money on transport, because they’re close to so much. These 2 locations are the riverwalk and the alamo. And both locations have a good choice of hotels.
The benefits to going for the river-walk are plenty, and the disadvantages rather minor (if you ask me). What is the river-walk? Well in San Antonio, its only the coolest, hippest place to be. Its a trendy path a long the river with tons of little cafes and a great atmosphere. Both the night, and the day are busy as can be. In fact, its impossible to find it empty. The even better part, is that right next to it, are situated a whole bunch of different clubs, bars, restaurants and even a few museums. If you’re into entertainment, and you like being around people, then this is the place for you. If however you’d like to feel you’re in a more “secluded location” and you don’t mind the travel, you can pick hotels that are away from the river-walk.
The alternative, the city-center actually is close to a most of the remaining tourist sights (including the Alamo), and it also has a really good selection of fine hotels. It doesn’t offer many restaurants though, and the night-life isn’t as diverse or big.
If this information about the location doesn’t suit you, then what you want to do is to go ahead and simply pick at random. I’m not kidding. These are all excellent hotels, and there isn’t much to ponder or think about. You can’t go wrong with any of them, and they’re all very good.
Maybe now the very next step is to find one of the very best san antonio hotels. The only way you can find this is by doing research. Plan where you would like to go first and then this next step wil become easier.
